Why help our Branch?

We are a unique charity in the way in which we help cats :-

1.We trap, treat and neuter feral cats humanely(x-friendly cats living wild,
due to being abandoned) and find them suitable safe environments, where possible.
So we are able to re-site, these cats we need a constant sources of outside
homes willing to take on an outside neutered cat, which will get food and shelter.
Where the cats can live peacefully with food and shelter. Thus ensuring cat
colonies do not become overridden with cats. So that the authorities, such as
the Enviromental Health. Do not simply destroy them. Like some other rescue
organisations may do.

2.To help cats in real need of our help. See our Special Cat Care Cases, for
more details.

3.We have readily helped many cats in and outwith this area and wish to help
more. Infact covering the whole of Lanarkshire and beyond nowadays. We can only
do this with your help, as we do not receive any state benefits at all. Also
we are an entirely voluntary group. Run soley by volunteers who simply love
and care for cats and devote their life to them. Also all our funds go directly
to the cats in need, not on staff wages, etc.

4.As a Branch. we also treat, care for, neuter and re-home friendly cats into
new suitable home environments. Whether they are unwanted, stray or abandoned
for whatever reason.

5.As a branch, we give financial help(in the form of subsidised neutering),
to people who would not otherwise be able to afford to neuter/treat their cats
for whatever reason. Legacies and donations ensure we can continue to help as
many cats as possible and are one of our main ways in which we obtain funds.
Without these the number of cats we can help is severely limited indeed. Help
us to be able to help the helpless cats and kittens out there.

Or simply leave Lanarkshire Branch a legacy to be more able to help more cats.
If you wish our organisation to re-home/care for your cats in return for this
legacy. Please give careful instructions in your will for the future care for
your cat(s). Who have given you so much love during your lifetime.

If you would prefer to regularly help our branch by giving regular donations
instead. Then please see our printable direct debit instruction with our details
on it.

Why not make a will and leave a legacy to the local Cat Action Trust branch
who actually do help cats in the Lanarkshire area?

How can the Original Cat Action Trust(Lanarkshire Branch) benefit from your
will?

When you remember your family and friends. Please remember the charities that
have helped you in the past, all the good work they do and those that will actually
help others in need of their help in the future. Funds are desperately needed
to expand our cat rescue work and help many more cats in need of our help. Funds
are always required to cover the large vets fees, obtain new cat shelters, food
and litter, trapping equipment,etc.

Remember we are a group run by volunteers and as such no monies will be required
for the unnecessary running of cars, staff wages, etc. All our funds go directly
towards the welfare of the cats. As well as our day to day expenses(vets bills,
shelters, food, litter, equipment, etc). Which costs us about £15,000 per
annum.

We have the following “one off” projects we wish specific funding
for desperately:- 2 new heated cat shelters with runs, so we can help more cats
in need. Approx. cost £5,000. More trapping equipment. 5 more humane traps,
trap transfer baskets and hospitalisation units. Approx. cost £2,000.
A second hand van, transport of any type or trailer. That can be used as a cat
ambulance/trailer to transport cats for neutering/re-homing. Especially for
large colonies,etc.

Above all being able to accommodate all our trapping equipment , which is very
cumbersome and gets constantly messy. Approx. cost £5,000.

A suggested Form of Bequest is given below:.
